Strety Reviews | Complete Guide

Written by Derek Weaver

Strety Reviews are a versatile performance management tool that allow you to create & facilitate customized performance review, including EOS Quarterly Conversations, for individual employees or your entire organization!

With Strety, you can conduct a Review in (2) ways:

  • Individual Review: A one-off Review carried-out between a manager & their direct report in the direct report's person space

  • Review Cycle: A standardized review that you can setup & kickoff for multiple users at once. Review Cycles are facilitated from Strety's HR Center, and are perfect for team or org-wide reviews that require the same questions like EOS Quarterly Conversation

Individual Reviews

An individual Review is conducted between a manager & direct report (reviewee) from the reviewee's person space.

To create a new individual review or view any ongoing or past reviews for a direct report, click on the Reviews tab in their space

How to Create a New Individual Review

Here's a video guide that will walk a manager through how to set-up a one-off individual review for one of their direct reports

How to Complete an Individual Review as the Manager or Reviewee

Here's a video that will show you how to fill-out your side of the review, whether you are the manager or the reviewee

How to Complete a Review: Review Responses or Take Offline

Once both parties have completed their review, you have the option to create a Strety agenda and review the results together in the platform OR take the results offline and discuss live

Here's a video that shows you how to create the agenda in Strety, review the results, and/or take the results offline to in-person review

How to Kickoff a Review Cycle

If you want to save time and kickoff a standardized review form for a team, a custom mix of users, or even your entire organization, you can do it from Strety's HR Center!

Once the Review Cycle has been kicked-off, each manager & reviewee assigned a review will follow the same steps in the Individual Review section to complete their portion of the review and review the results together in Strety or offline

Here's a video walkthrough on how to setup a Review Cycle

Creating Review Templates

Review Templates allow you to set-up templates for different review types or specific teams, making it easy to standardize the review process for each review cycle across your org

Note: The EOS Quarterly Conversation template is pre-loaded in your account

If you want to create new Review Template(s) that can be accessed & used by any manager, go to Templates page within Adminland and select Review Templates

Give the template a name that will make it clear to everyone what the template is for and click Create Review Template

To add sections/questions to the review template click Form, then Add Sections in the template

Definitions to each section:

  • Custom: Create your own custom sections with custom questions. You can even determine whether you want questions to be open-ended or you can create custom answer template

    • You can create multiple custom sections within any Review form

  • Custom Roles: For Orgs who want to use a custom answer template to assess the role review

  • GWC: A module that pulls all the seats the reviewee is assigned in the Accountability Chart so that you can perform a GWC (Gets It, Wants it, Capacity to do it) assessment for each individual seat

  • Core Values: A module that pulls in your organization's Core Values from the VTO so you can assess whether the reviewee is meeting your core values

  • Data: A module that pulls in all the reviewee's Rocks & Scorecard Measurables that were assigned during the review's date range

  • Leadership Management: An assessment about the manager that assesses whether they exhibited leadership traits. If you ask the manager to complete this section, it is a self evaluation

  • Management Assessment: An assessment about the manager that assesses whether they exhibited management traits. If you ask the manager to complete this section, it is a self evaluation

Once the Review Template has been saved, it will be accessible whenever a manager wants to kick-off a review with a direct report

Adding an Additional Manager

You can add an additional top-line manager to any review by selecting them from the additional manager menu

Note: Only managers up the chain from the direct manager are available to be selected

The additional manager will fill out the same review form as the direct manager and will be able to participate in the review agenda

Peer Reviews

A quick video on how to add peer feedback to any review

Sharing Peer Feedback with the Reviewee

By default, peer feedback is only visible to the manager in any review - the reviewee cannot access or view the peer feedback in any capacity.

The intent is for the manager to review the peer feedback and determine what they want to share with the reviewee during the actual review

However, if you want to make the share the peer feedback with the reviewee, you can, but the peer feedback will remain 100% anonymous

Note: There is no way to share non-anonymous peer feedback with the reviewee

Custom Answer Templates (Question Types)

Reviews can cover anything and no two organizations do them exactly the same way. To to meet that need, Strety allows organizations to create their own Custom Answer Templates so you can style & run your Reviews, your way!

Here's a short list of Answer Templates we'd recommend adding to your list:

  • Yes/No/Sometimes - To mirror the Understands It, Wants It, Can Handle It (GWC) style from the Roles Review and Core Values Review

  • Rating Scale - Add 1-3, 1-5, or 1-10 options for questions requiring a rating

  • Performance

    • A, B, C, D, F

    • Above Average, Average, Below Average

    • High, Medium, Low

  • Frequency - Always, Sometimes, Never
