Strety Accountability Chart | Complete Guide

Create an Accountability Chart in Strety, define Seats and Roles, assign owners, manage drafts, and export or print your chart.

Written by Derek Weaver

The Accountability Chart gives your organization a clear view of who owns each Seat, who reports to whom, and which Roles each person is accountable for. Use this guide to access and customize your Accountability Chart in Strety, add Seats and assignees, create team-specific drafts, and export or print the chart for meetings.

To access your Accountability Chart, click the Company tab from anywhere in Strety.

If you're new to Strety, you'll see a blank Accountability Chart with a handful of Seats already in place as starting points.

Customize the Accountability Chart

All Leadership Team members, Account Owners, and Admins have permission to edit the Accountability Chart. Members outside of the Leadership team do not have edit access.

To edit any Seat, click into it. From there, you can customize Seat names, add Assignees, add Roles, set the Seat Status, and add External Assignees if the Seat is owned by a non-Strety user.

To add additional Seats beneath a parent Seat, click the three-dot menu and select Add Seat Below. You can also use the Move functions to customize the order of your Seats within each level of your organization.

To expand or collapse branches of your Accountability Chart, click the downward arrow beneath the parent Seat.

Add external users

Perhaps not everyone on your Accountability Chart is a Strety member yet. There's still a way for you to enter their name so that it's explicitly clear who owns that Seat and its Roles.

To enter an external or placeholder user, edit the Seat and type the name into the External assignees field.

Once entered, they will appear as avatars with their initials on the Accountability Chart, including the printable PDF.

Search by Seat or person

You can search the Accountability Chart using two criteria:

  • Seat name

  • Person

If searching by person, you can use the Sub Seat filter to see all Seats assigned to that person before narrowing your selection.

The video above shows how to search the Accountability Chart by Seat or person.

Add an Owner's Box

Add an Owner's Box to your organization's Accountability Chart by clicking Edit from the three-dot menu to the right of the page and enabling Show Owner's Box.

Who can edit the Organization-Wide Accountability Chart?

By default, the Organization-Wide Accountability Chart can be edited by:

  • Account Owners

  • Admins

  • Members of the Leadership Team

If the Leadership Team is set as a Secret Space, only members of the Leadership Team can edit the Organization-Wide Accountability Chart.

Note: Admins who are not members of the Leadership Team will not be able to edit the chart while the Leadership Team is a Secret Space.

Create team-specific Accountability Chart drafts or versions

Planning for growth or an organizational restructure? Or maybe you have a team that wants to create its own custom Accountability Chart separate from the organizational chart. Strety allows you to create different drafts of your Accountability Chart to help your team better visualize the future!

To create new versions of your Accountability Chart, first enable the tool from your team's Tools:
