Video Guide: Deep Dive

Everything you need to know to create, track, and manage your Action Items with Strety

How to Create Action Items

Create a new Action Item from Quick Create or from a Team or your Person Action Item Space

Give your Action Item a Name, Due Date, Description, assign a Primary Space, assign an Owner, add any other Subscribers (if needed), and select whether you want to Link to an Integration (if applicable)

You can also add Action Items inline anywhere in the platform, including editing the Due Date and Owner by clicking inline

Duplicating Action Items

If you want to create the same Action Item for multiple people, click the Duplicate toggle to add everyone you need. Note that the Action Items will be created separately for each assignee

How to Share Action Items: Team vs Personal Action Items

An Action Item must always have a Primary Space. It can be a Team or a Person Space. Click here to read more on Strety's Team & Person Spaces

Team Action Items

For any Action Item assigned within a Private Team Space we automatically share it with the owner's Person Space; this enables the assignee to see all their assigned Action Items from across all Teams in their Personal Overview Page

For items assigned to a Secret Team Space, Strety does not automatically share with the assignee's Person Space

Personal Action Items

For Action Items that are meant to be Personal you can set the Primary Team as your Personal Space and it will only be viewable by yourself and your manager(s).

Sharing Action Items with Multiple Team(s) or People

If you'd like to share an Action Item with additional Team or Person Spaces so the item can be viewed in their Team or Personal Action Item lists, click into the Action Item and add the Spaces from the Spaces shared with dropdown.

This option is great for Action Items that impact multiple teams, so everyone can stay informed!

How to Create Action Item Lists

Action Item Lists are a great way to add organization to your Team or Personal Action Items. To add a list, click Create Action Item List from any Action Item page

New Action Items can be added inline within existing lists or added separately from a list. You can also drag & drop existing Action Items between and in/out of lists via the 6-dots to the left of the name

Note: Team Action Item Lists to not carry over into your Personal To Do lists and vice versa

Where to See Your Action Items

How to Sync Strety Action Items w/ 3rd Party Integrations

For many Action Items that originate within Strety, the work happens somewhere else. In efforts to reduce duplicative work and meet people where they actually work, we have a growing list of platforms you can create, link, and bi-directionally sync Action Items with:

The best part is when those tasks or tickets are completed within those platforms, the Action Item will automatically complete back in Strety

How to Set Defaults for Linked Action Items

If you find yourself sending every Action Item you are assigned in Strety to the same 3rd party integration, set-up Default Linking and save yourself a lot of clicks!

For more on Default Linking, check out this doc

Action Item Reporting

Check out our Pulse Report for more insights & summaries of all Action Items you have visibility into including:

  • Action Items Added & Resolved: A weekly breakdown of all added & resolved Action Items per Team. A great way to look back, especially after a busy week or some time off!

  • Action Items Currently Open: Filterable Action Item report by Teams & Assignees. Great for managers to see how much is on everyone's plate

  • Action Item Analysis: Comprehensive, filterable Action Item report to any Action Items that have been reassigned, have had their due dates pushed-out, growing stagnant, and that you assigned to other users
