Strety Notifications Settings

Manage Strety external notification settings, choose email, Microsoft Teams, Slack, or mobile app notifications, and troubleshoot delivery issues.

Written by Derek Weaver

Strety notification settings help you control where you receive external notifications from your teams. Use these settings to choose your notification level, manage external notification channels, set Check-In reminders, and reduce noise from items that do not need your attention.

Note: In-app notifications in the Strety inbox are always enabled and are not managed in these settings.

To access your notification settings, click your avatar, then select Notifications.

Subscriber defaults by item type

Strety automatically subscribes certain people to external notifications based on the item type:

  • Issues - Owner and Creator

  • To Dos - Assignee and Creator

  • Rocks - Assignee and Creator

  • Measurables - Assignee and Creator

  • Headlines - Owner and Creator

  • Messages - Everyone on the team

Unsubscribe from specific items

You can unsubscribe from a specific item if it does not involve you or creates too many notifications.

To edit subscribers on a specific item, open an Issue, To Do, or Headline, then click Edit Subscribers. You can also remove other subscribers from an item to limit notifications for team members who do not need updates.

Note: Even if someone is unsubscribed from an item, they still receive a notification if you @ mention them directly in a comment or context section.

Use @ mentions in Strety

Use @ mentions when you need to notify someone directly in Strety. You can mention people in context boxes and comment sections.

Type @, then select a person from the list. Only people with access to the item appear as options.

Troubleshoot Microsoft Teams external notifications

If the Microsoft Teams option in the Where should we send your external notifications? dropdown is grayed out and unavailable, authenticate the Chat tab in the Microsoft Teams app.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.

  2. Select the Chat tab.

  3. Type signout.

  4. Follow the prompts to reauthenticate.

  5. Return to your Strety notification settings and confirm that the Microsoft Teams option is available.
