There are 3 levels of Rocks in Strety: Company, Department, and Individual. In this article, we will show you how to create, identify, manage, and check-in all three levels of your Rocks

How to Create a Rock
Create a new Rock from a Space's Rock page or from the orange Quick Create button from the top navbar
Create and define your Rock via the following setting options:
Name: How the Rock will appear throughout the platform
Description: The details/outline of the Rock, ie. what makes it SMART
Space: The primary space of the Rock
Assignee: Who is accountable for the Rock
Due Date/Timeline: The time frame & due date for the Rock
Annual Goals: Link the Rock to Annual Goals (if applicable)
Level: Set the Rock as Company, Department, or Individual
Progress Type: Set how you'll check-in the Rock
If you'd like the Rock to be visible in additional Teams/L10s, click to open the Rock then select any additional Spaces from the Spaces Shared With area - this will allow the Rock to be tracked/viewed in additional team spaces & meetings
Note: Upon assignment, the Rock will automatically be shared into the assignee's personal Workspace
Company vs Department vs Individual Rocks
Company Rocks
Company Rocks are your organization's top priorities.
Company Rocks are typically established during Quarterly Planning Sessions, align to a 90-day tracking period, are (almost always) are related to an Annual Goal from the VTO, and should move the overall 1-year Vision of the organization forward
While Company Rocks are owned by an individual and assigned to specific Team(s), they are visible to everyone.
Every Company Rock can be seen in two different areas:
From the Company Rocks section of the Company tab
By clicking on the Show Company Rocks drawer within the Rock section of any L10 agenda
Departmental Rocks
Department Rocks are the top priorities for a specific team or functional area (like Operations, Sales, or Finance).
Department Rocks are typically established by department teams & managers and often, but not always, relate back to either a Company Rock or Annual Goal
Department Rocks are established to solve core department issues and achieve functional goals that align with the company Vision
Every Department Rock can be seen by clicking on the Show Department Rocks drawer within the Rock page or Rock Agenda Item within an agenda in that space
If you have a Team VTO enabled, you will also see all Department Rocks in the Team's Traction section:
Individual Rocks
Individual Rocks are the personal 90-day goals or projects owned by a single person
Individual Rocks are typically established by the Rock owners in alignment with their manager and department objectives
Individual Rocks drive daily performance, solve specific issues, and should support the higher-level Department and Company Rocks
Every Individual Rock can be seen from the Rock page or Rock Agenda Item within any Space the Rock is shared with
How to Check-In Rocks
Check-ins are your way of updating your progress towards your Rocks. Check-ins should be done weekly and ahead of your L10 Meeting or 1:1 Meeting so everyone is up-to-date on the current status of your Rock(s)
To check-in a Rock click the Status field and update your Status
On Track - Current pace trending towards hitting target
Off Track - Current pace trending towards missing target
Done - When you've fully completed the target
Not Done - If you failed to accomplish your target by due date
Value - For Status & Progress Rocks only, your progress against End Value
Pro Tip: You can view & check-in every Rock you are assigned - Company, Department, and Individual - directly from your personal space
Rock Progress Types
There are (4) Progress Types, these are determined by a combination of what you're tracking and how you check-in
Status Only: This type gives owners the check-in options of On Track or Off Track, providing them to self-assess how they are tracking towards the overall goal
Status with Target: This type allows owners to set a starting value, an ending value, and type (number, currency, or percentage), and requires them to add a numerical component along with their On Track/Off Track assessment. Use these for tracking quantifiable goals (i.e $30,000 Net New MRR this Quarter or Create 20 SOPs)
Integration: This type allows owners to link the Rock to a Microsoft Planner or a Connectwise Project. We'll automate the check-in of these Rocks based on the completion percentage of the to dos/tasks in the linked project
From Project: This type is linked directly to a Strety Project and will pull the most recent project status update as the Rock's update
