Strety's AI Suggestions for Docs is an AI-powered feature that helps you create documentation drafts based on your organization's context, processes, responsibilities, Rocks, and goals. Instead of starting from a blank page, you can use AI Suggestions to generate a personalized Doc draft that you can review, edit, save, and publish in Strety.
The video above provides a full walkthrough of AI Suggestions for Docs. For step-by-step written instructions, continue to the sections below.
What are AI Suggestions for Docs?
AI Suggestions for Docs uses artificial intelligence to help you generate documentation ideas and drafts inside Strety. The feature uses the context you choose, along with any specific instructions you provide, to create Docs that reflect your organization's structure, goals, and processes.
You can use AI Suggestions for Docs to create drafts for topics such as:
Organization details
Internal processes
Rock-related documentation
Roles, seats, and responsibilities
Company-wide operating information
AI-generated Docs are meant to give you a strong starting point. You can review the suggestion, make edits, adjust the Doc settings, save it as a draft, or publish it when it is ready.
What context is used?
AI Suggestions for Docs can use the following context to generate personalized documentation suggestions:
Company V/TO and Annual Goals: Your organization's vision, long-term direction, and annual priorities
Company Seats and Responsibilities: Your organization's seats, roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities
Instructions: Optional open-ended guidance you provide to shape the Doc suggestion
Context is important because it gives the AI the information it needs to create a more relevant Doc. If your Company V/TO, Annual Goals, Company Seats, and Responsibilities are detailed and up to date, AI Suggestions can generate stronger, more specific documentation drafts.
You can control the context available to the AI during suggestion generation. Use the context options and instruction field to focus the AI on the Doc you want to create.
Note: AI Suggestions only uses the context selected during suggestion generation and the information available to the user creating the Doc.
How AI Suggestions for Docs works
AI Suggestions for Docs analyzes the Strety context you choose and uses your instructions to generate relevant Doc suggestions. The more complete and specific your context is, the more useful the generated Doc can be.
You can guide the AI by adding instructions for what the Doc should cover, how it should be structured, or what tone it should use. For example, you could ask AI Suggestions to create a Doc that defines key roles in your Company Seats and Responsibilities and explains how those roles connect to your Proven Process.
You can also add style or formatting direction, such as asking the AI to make the content more fun or use a specific theme when appropriate.
Tip: Use the instructions field to tell AI Suggestions what the Doc should accomplish, who it is for, and what details it should include.

Tips for better Doc suggestions
Use AI Suggestions for Docs as a starting point, then refine the generated content to match your team's language, process, and documentation standards.
Provide clear instructions: Explain what the Doc should cover, who it is for, and what outcome you want
Use complete context: Keep your Company V/TO, Annual Goals, Company Seats, and Responsibilities up to date
Be specific: Include the topic, desired structure, key details, and any special tone or terminology
Review before publishing: Check the generated Doc for accuracy, formatting, and alignment with your internal processes
Customize the draft: Edit the suggestion so it fits your organization's real workflow and language
Tip: If the first suggestion is too broad, adjust your instructions or selected context and generate another suggestion.
Security and privacy
AI Suggestions for Docs uses Strety-provided context and instructions to generate suggestions. The AI does not have direct access to your Strety database or uncontrolled access to your workspace.
What AI service does Strety use?
We use OpenRouter (https://openrouter.ai/) to connect to GPT-4o-mini provided by OpenAI to generate AI suggestions. This service processes prompts to deliver suggestions tailored to the selected context.
Can I use my own AI service?
No, you cannot use your own AI service at this time. AI Suggestions is designed to work with Strety's integrated AI solution to support consistent performance and security standards.
What data does the AI have access to?
The AI/LLM does not have direct access to Strety data and cannot retrieve data on its own. Instead, Strety provides specific data through prompts. These prompts include only data points that:
You have access to within Strety
You selected to use in suggestion generation
Are relevant to Doc creation
Specific data is sent to the LLM model, which is then used to generate suggestions. The AI never receives raw database access or uncontrolled data access to your Strety workspace.
Note: OpenRouter itself does not store data for training purposes. It is a provider that lets Strety route to LLMs. Strety is currently using OpenAI GPT models, which are not used for training the model. However, data can be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days to monitor abuse. Strety plans to switch to a zero data retention LLM in the future, but there is no exact ETA.
Can I turn this feature off?
Yes, you can disable AI-powered features for your organization:
Go to Adminland > Advanced Features.
Disable the AI for Assistance Creating Rocks, Measurables, Docs toggle.
Click Save.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Strety uses safeguards to protect the data involved in suggestion generation:
Prompt-only access: AI only receives curated prompts, not direct database access
Encryption: Data transmission is encrypted during the suggestion generation process
Access control: Only data you have permission to view is included in suggestion prompts
Compliance: Strety's AI integration follows industry-standard security practices
Data retention
OpenRouter: OpenRouter itself does not store data for training purposes. It is a provider that lets Strety route to LLMs.
OpenAI data retention: OpenAI may securely retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to provide services and identify abuse. After 30 days, API inputs and outputs are removed from OpenAI's systems, unless legally required to retain them. For more details, see OpenAI's Enterprise Privacy documentation.
Strety internal data retention: Strety stores the input prompts and AI-generated outputs for auditing purposes. This data is deleted upon request or when the user who requested the suggestions is deleted from the system.
Note: Strety plans to switch to a zero data retention LLM in the future, but there is no exact ETA.
