Strety Spaces are the backbone of your account. The Space determines where items can be seen & shared. There are (4) types of Spaces:

  • Company Space: Items affecting the entire org, like Playbooks & Messages

  • Team Space: The actual Teams in your Strety account

  • Person Space: The collection of items someone is assigned across all Teams they are a member of + their personal/private items

  • Project Space: The items - to dos, issues, agendas, docs - pertaining to a Strety project

Strety Spaces: Video Overview

Team Spaces

A Team Space is where all the items & agendas associated with a team come together. Any member of a Team can see & view all data assigned or shared to the space.

Permissions/Access: Private vs Secret Spaces

There are two permission types of Spaces, Private and Secret. This setting can selected when creating a new team or from the team's edit settings.

  • Private Spaces are accessible to members of the team + all account admins.

  • Secret Spaces are locked down so that only members of that Space can view it - making it perfect for Same Page teams you don't want global access to

Note: A Person Space is always a Secret Space

Assigning Items: Primary Space

When adding or editing items, there must always be a Primary Space assigned to the item.

For any To Do, Rock, or Metric assigned on a Private Team Space, we automatically share the item with the assignee's Personal Space - this enables the assignee to see all of those items when from their Personal Space page.

You can remove the sharing with the Personal Space by clicking the small x

For items assigned to a Secret Team Space, Strety does not automatically share with the assignee's Person Space

If you'd like to share an item with additional Team or Person spaces so the item can be viewed in other Team or Personal To Do lists, click into the existing item and add the Spaces from the Spaces shared with dropdown. This option is great for items that impact multiple teams, so everyone can stay informed!

Person Spaces

A Person Space is where all the items the user is assigned across all Team Spaces come together in a single view.

To navigate to your Person Space, click the People dropdown from the top navbar and click into yourself

Your Person Space is visible to you (the user), your direct manager, and any managers up the chain.

When assigned a To Do, Rock, or Metric within a Team Space we will also share that item with your Person Space by default. This ensure everything you are assigned is viewable from within your Person Space

Adding Personal Items

For items that are meant to be Personal you can set the Primary Space as your Person Space and it will only be viewable by yourself and your manager(s).

All item types (To Dos, Issues, Metrics, Rocks, and Headlines) can be created as Personal

If you'd like to share a Personal item with additional Team or Person space, click into the existing item and add the spaces you'd like to share with from the Spaces shared with options

Project Spaces

A Project Space is set up to manage a specific Strety Project. To read more about Strety Projects, check out our Complete Guide

Project Spaces look & behave similarly to a Team Space, but with one major difference when it comes to sharing - Items assigned in a Project Space do not automatically share back with the assignee's Person Space

However, if you want to share Project items with your Person Space you can manually share any item
