Install Strety as a progressive web app when you want faster access to your workspace from your device. A progressive web app, or PWA, lets Strety open in its own app-style window so you can access it from your desktop, taskbar, dock, Start menu, launcher, or app list, depending on your device.
The video above provides a full walkthrough of how to install Strety as a progressive web app. For step-by-step written instructions, continue to the sections below.
Before you install Strety as a progressive web app
You need:
Access to your Strety account
A browser that supports installed web apps, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or supported versions of Firefox
Permission to install apps, shortcuts, or browser-based web apps on your device
Note: The install option may look different depending on your browser, device, operating system, and browser version.
Install Strety as a progressive web app
Open Strety in your browser.
Look for the install icon or app install option.
In many browsers, the install icon appears on the right side of the address bar when the site can be installed as a web app.
Chrome:
Microsoft Edge:
Firefox:Click the install icon or select the app install option.
Review the installation pop-up window.
Click Install or follow the browser prompt to finish installing Strety.
Chrome:
Microsoft Edge:Wait for Strety to open in its own app-style window.
After installation, Strety opens separately from your regular browser tabs. You can use it like another app on your device while still staying connected to your Strety workspace.
Add Strety where you can find it quickly
Once Strety is installed as a progressive web app, you can add it to a convenient location on your device. The available options depend on your operating system and browser.
You may be able to:
Add a desktop shortcut
Pin Strety to your taskbar
Keep Strety in your dock
Add Strety to your Start menu or app launcher
Open Strety from your device’s app list
The next time you want to open Strety, select the Strety app icon or shortcut instead of opening a new browser tab.
What to expect after installation
Installing Strety as a progressive web app does not create a separate Strety account or change your workspace. It gives you a more app-like way to access the same Strety web experience.
With Strety installed as a progressive web app, you can:
Open Strety from your device like a regular app
Keep Strety separate from your other browser tabs
Access Strety from a shortcut, taskbar, dock, Start menu, launcher, or app list when supported by your device
Return to the browser version of Strety whenever needed
Tip: If you use Strety throughout the day, adding the app to a visible location can help keep your workspace easy to access during meetings, Check-Ins, and planning sessions.
If the install option does not appear
If you do not see the install icon or app install option, check the following:
Confirm you are signed in to Strety in a supported browser
Refresh the page and check the address bar or browser menu again
Update your browser to the latest version available for your device
Confirm your device allows installed apps, shortcuts, or browser-based web apps
Some browsers and devices handle progressive web apps differently. If the install option is not available, you can still access Strety from your browser.
