How to Set Up the Todoist Integration in Strety

Connect Todoist to Strety, create linked To Dos, choose a default Todoist project, and understand what syncs from Strety to Todoist.

Written by Dan Lapuz

Connect the Todoist integration in Strety to turn Strety To Dos into Todoist tasks. This helps you keep action items visible in Todoist while your team continues managing accountability and follow-through in Strety.

The Todoist integration supports creating linked tasks from new or existing Strety To Dos. You can also set a default Todoist project so new To Dos assigned to you automatically create matching tasks in Todoist.

Before you connect Todoist to Strety, make sure:

  • You have Member, Admin, or Account Owner access in Strety

  • The Todoist integration is assigned to you in Strety

  • You are logged in to Todoist in the same browser where you are setting up the integration

After you save the setting, any new Strety To Do assigned to you creates a matching Todoist task automatically.

Important: Default linking only applies to To Dos assigned to you after the setting is saved. Existing To Dos already assigned to you are not linked retroactively. To link existing To Dos, open each To Do and link it to Todoist manually.

What syncs from Strety to Todoist

The Todoist integration uses a one-way sync from Strety to Todoist. After a Strety To Do is linked to Todoist, updates to the Strety To Do can update the matching Todoist task.

During To Do creation

The following Strety To Do fields sync to Todoist when the Todoist task is created:

  • Title

  • Description

  • Due date

When updating a Strety To Do

After the Todoist task is created, only the following Strety updates sync to Todoist:

  • Due date

  • Completion status

When you update the due date in Strety, the linked Todoist task updates with the same due date. When you complete the To Do in Strety, Strety also completes the linked Todoist task.

Important: Updates made directly in Todoist do not sync back to Strety. Changes only sync from Strety to Todoist.
