Default Access to Personal/Private Spaces

Every Strety user has their own Person Space, this is where all the items they own or are assigned across all teams and meetings come together. This is accessed under the People dropdown.

By default, direct Managers and any managers up the chain (Skip-Level Managers) have access to your Person Space, too. You can always see who currently has access to a Person Space from the top right of the space

Granting Access to Person/Secret Spaces

Some orgs may want to provide access and visibility to a person's Person Space to someone who falls outside the managerial hierarchy. Common examples may include:

  • Organizational leaders

  • HR representative(s)

  • An executive assistant or administrator

  • A manager from another team or department ahead of a role shift

To provide access to someone outside of the managerial chain, head to People in Adminland, find the person you want to grant the access to, and click Change Access

From here, we show all the Team Spaces and Person Spaces the user already has access to

To grant access to a new space, check the box for for the Team Space or Person Space. When this happens an email notification will be sent out to everyone currently in the space letting them know a) who was added to the space and b) who added them

Only Account Owners can change access to Secret Spaces and Person Spaces

How to Access People Spaces

For a list of everyone you have access to, click All People from the People dropdown. Click into the person's name to view their Space

Use Cases for Granting Access to Secret Space

This feature was designed with HR personnel and other organizational leaders in mind, allowing them to gain an extra layer of visibility into how their managers are performing.

Once given access to someone's Person Space, you gain visibility into that person's assigned items (To Dos, Scorecards, Rocks) as well as any 1x1s or Reviews they've been a part of. We also allow you to set up Reviews between a manager/direct report pairing - making it easier for to set-up & roll-out standardized Reviews for entire teams or organizations.

Here's a video that shows the end-to-end process of granting access to a Secret Space and the visibility & functionality it provides once gained
