Strety People Analyzer | Complete Guide

The People Analyzer is an EOS tool that will help you assess and identify whether someone fits your culture, aligns with your company values, and is responsible for the right roles(s) at your organization - essentially determining whether you have the right people in the right seats

The People Analyzer gives leadership teams the ability to rate employees on a "+" or "-" scale to determine how well they exhibit your Core Values (from your VTO) and whether the employee gets, wants, and has the capacity (GWC) to do their assigned role(s) (from you Accountability Chart)

Using a tool like the People Analyzer™ isn’t just useful when evaluating employees, but it also helps management teams develop an understanding of what is acceptable and what it not within the organization. When managers have a clear understanding of these expectations, they are best prepared to hold not only themselves, but also their people accountable to the values of the organization.

Where to find the People Analyzer

The People Analyzer is enabled in your leadership team, by default (or whichever team space you've designated as the leadership space in Adminland)


How to run the People Analyzer

The People Analyzer in EOS is typically run quarterly during (every 90 days) during Quarterly Conversations or at Quarterly Planning Sessions to assess if employees are "Right People" (Core Values) and "Right Seats" (GWC™). While used quarterly, it can be employed anytime to solve team issues, during hiring, or during annual planning sessions

To start a new People Analyzer assessment, click Create from the People Analyzer page. Give your session a Name, Description (optional), & set The Bar

Setting The Bar

"The Bar" represents the minimum acceptable standard as to how many core values must be a plus (+), and how many plus/minuses (+/-) are allowable; the results will determine if someone is in the right person in the right seat

Set The Bar by selecting how many core values must have a plus (+). In the example below, we're saying 3 of the Core Values must be a plus (+). There are no minuses (-) allowed for Core Values.

Note: GWC is hard coded and all must be Yes


How to Conduct a People Analyzer Evaluation

Select the users you want to evaluate from the Evaluations Add people settings:

Select whether you want to evaluate and click Save

  • Everyone: All users in your Strety account (excluding external users)

  • Team Spaces: Select members of specific team(s)

  • Specific People: Select individual members to evaluate

  • Auto-assign Managers: Each user's manager will be assigned as their evaluator. Users without a manager will be left unassigned

Go through each user as a Leadership team and determine how they adhere to & exhibit your Core Values and whether they GWC the seat(s) they're assigned in your Accountability Chart

Add context to your assessment(s) whenever relevant, but especially if someone barely meets or falls short of the bar

Assessments with a dog ear in the top right corner identify context has been added to the rating


Completing the evaluation

Once you've evaluated & rated everyone, click Complete from the Action menu:

Based on The Bar's settings and your ratings Strety will output a visual showing whether you have the right people in the right seats or whether there are adjustments that may need to be made:


Assigning Evaluators

In some situations, you may want to non-leadership team members to perform evaluations on specific users, most commonly you'd ask managers to evaluate their direct reports.


To assign direct managers as evaluators, click the Auto-assign managers as evaluators check box

After clicking save, you'll see the People Analyzer grouped by manager with their direct reports nested beneath them

If you want to reassign people to be evaluated by someone other than their direct manager, click Assign Evaluators, select the people, then select the new evaluator and click Assign


All of those people will now be reassigned to the new evaluator

What your (non-Leadership) Evaluators See

When a user is assigned as an evaluator, they will receive a notification stating You've been assigned to evaluate people in [name of People Analyzer session].

They will also see any open evaluations awaiting their assessment from their homepage's Open Items section

The user will see their evaluator view the includes only the people they are assigned to evaluate

The evaluator completed their evaluation(s) and submits by clicking Complete. We will not allow evaluators to submit an incomplete evaluation

The results from your individual evaluator(s) will feed into the high-level (master) People Analyzer evaluation and display the results


Follow-up on Evaluation Results

To address any issues identified in the People Analyzer, click on the 3-dot menu to the right of the user's evaluation result and create an issue from the assessment.

Create that issue in the most appropriate space to continue the conversation, typically either the Leadership team or the user's person space, so it can be discussed further in an upcoming 1x1 or Quarterly Conversation


Print to PDF

Export & print the results of any People Analyzer assessment from the Print as PDF action:
