What are Strety Playbooks

Strety Playbooks allow you to create, organize, and assign all of your company & team-specific internal documentation, including processes, policies, and stories, all in one location!

Playbooks can be assigned to anyone in your organization. Once assigned, Strety will automatically create a To Do for the assignee, and you'll be notified once they complete the Playbook. You can even attach Playbooks to roles in your Roles Chart so that they are instantly assigned to anyone newly added to the role!

Watch this video for a high-level overview of Strety Playbooks

How to Create a Company Playbook

Find Playbooks from the Company tab in the top navbar then select Create a New Playbook from the New dropdown

Give your Playbook a Title and Description and select the Folder and Type of Playbook it's meant to be, then begin creating!

Playbook Types

We've created (3) default types to categorize Playbooks

  • Policy - Those things everyone needs to read like Privacy Policies, Acceptable Use Policies, Incident Response Plan, and Time-Off Policies

  • Process - Specific processes & workflows, equally as common at the team level

  • Story - A catch all for information important to a) share and b) confirm receipt

Feel free to edit these defaults and/or create your own that align with your organizational needs

Playbook Folders

Folders are a way to better organize your Playbooks. We highly recommend using folders as they will make life easier for both the creators and assignees

How to Publish a Playbook

When you begin to build - or add content - to your Playbook, save yourself time & effort by copying/pasting existing information directly into the Playbook. You can also drag & drop images and files directly into them, including videos! Click Save draft to save your progress.

Once your draft has been saved, you have two options:

  1. Publish - This means you're ready for your Playbook to be accessible by all

  2. Edit - This allows you to continue editing the Playbook

Once you're ready for your Playbook to go live, click Publish

Linking Playbooks to Roles (from the Roles Chart)

Certain Playbooks are more directly tied to Roles rather than Teams. If you want to link a Playbook to specific roles within the Roles Chart, click Link to Role, select the Company Roles option and make your selections

From the Roles Chart you will be able to see all linked Playbooks when opening a specific role.

Note: Anyone who is added to the role in the future will automatically be assigned each Playbooks linked to the role

Assigning People to Complete a Playbook

Once a Playbook it published, it can now be assigned. To require people to complete a Playbook, assign them from the right nav pane. You have 3 options:

  • Current Space - Everyone in the Playbook's Primary Space will be assigned

  • Company Roles - Assign it to role(s) from your organization's Roles Chart and anyone assigned to those roles will be assigned

  • None - No explanation needed

Once a Playbook is assigned, the assignee receives To Do to complete the Playbook as well as a notification of the assignment

Email Notification Example:

When they open the To Do they'll have a direct link to access the Playbook that's been assigned

Completing a Playbook

Open the Playbook you've been assigned and review the content. Once completed, click Mark as Read and we'll notify the creator that you're up to speed

Company Playbooks vs Team Playbooks

Company Playbooks are accessible by everyone in the organization. Team Playbooks can only be viewed and assigned to members of the Team Space the Playbook belongs to

When creating a Playbook click into the Space assignment to confirm whether the Playbook is set as a Company or Team Playbook

Team Playbooks

If you'd like to create more specific Playbooks at the team level - great for processes - click Setup Tools from your Team Overview page

Find Playbooks and toggle it on
